Korg SDD-3000
Classic rack digital delay in very good cosmetic condition, freshly serviced and in excellent working order.
It has a few minor scuffs and scratches, but is in really good order for a unit that's around 30 years old and has had three knobs/caps replaced. It sounds great but please bear in mind this is an early digital unit so may not be as clean-sounding as modern units (which is of course one of the reasons why it's so good).
Used by Daniel Lanois, The Edge and Ed O'Brien among others - not only for the delays, but because of the great-sounding pre-amp section which is so highly-regarded that boutique clones are now being produced.
These units are showing their age and reliability can be an issue - this one's been to one of the best techs in the country and had all the work required to bring it back to top operating condition. They don't come up for sale very often and are highly sought-after - easy to see why: it's a very versatile unit, great crunchy delays, flanging, that pre-amp sound - we've been having fun linking two units together for some amazing tape phase/flanging simulations.
